It has been a long, strange journey for The Young and the Restless alum Victoria Rowell — and from the sounds of it, there’s been a lot of work going on behind the scenes that we knew nothing about! For those who don’t know, Drucilla’s former portrayer has been fighting a battle over on X/Twitter since the summer.

That was, folks may have noticed, when Rowell seemingly became obsessed with selling computers at phenomenal discount prices, claiming she was raising money for charity. Even more distastefully, whenever a fellow soap star died, the tweets turned to claiming she was offloading the computers to raise money for the deceased actor’s favorite cause. If you’ve  guessed at this point that Rowell was not the one behind these tweets or the computer selling scam, you’d be right. She was hacked and has been fighting ever since to get back into her Twitter account and get her name back.

And now, finally, “Auntie Vicki unhacked her account,” Rowell tweeted as herself for the first time in ages. “Thanks to all who notified my and stayed on top of it since last year!”

Along with the tweet, the NAACP award-winning actress shared a video just to make sure we knew it was her. “Hi guys, it’s Auntie Vicki!” she exclaimed. “I just want to say thank you to everyone who notified me about my Twitter account being hacked. I have unhacked it with the help and guidance of some very extraordinary people. It can be done.”

And it sounds like she’s been hard at work at this for months now, adding, “Lots of things to share with you on the internet, on Twitter, and also my Instagram. Again, thanks to everyone who notified me last July, 2023. Oh, Auntie has been on the case. Don’t play.”

The celebrations started pouring in on the comments, though there were more than a few folks who admitted they’d been taken in at first by the hacker. But don’t worry, that’s all over now and Rowell wasted no time in getting back to business, including announcing an upcoming movie called Summer Camp with the likes of Dennis Haysbert, Eugene Levy, Diane Keaton, Aflre Woodard, Kathy Bates and Beverly D’Angelo!

While having a hacked social media account is definitely a pain, Rowell also reminded us that it’s not something to be taken lightly. “The last time I checked in the United States of America, identity theft was a crime,” she added. “Don’t let them get away with it. It’s a crime. Alright, see you soon!”

Well, consider this crime busted. Welcome back!
